Pilotpriest - Master Control Program Mix

A Tron-inspired mix mixed by Pilotpriest.

In celebration of the release of TRON: Legacy, Toronto's NOW Magazine commissioned Pilotpriest to make a mix illustrating many of his shared influences with the film and its scorers Daft Punk and this is what happened.

Great mix, amazing journey.

Nicolas Jaar - Essential Mix

I think by now Nicolas Jaar needs no introduction. Here is his essential mix for BBC Radio 1, without Pete Thong's voice or skits. Very, very laid back thing, moments with steady house beat are rather occasional, in return you get many instruments spiced up with a twisted beats, compelling vocals and mesmerizing experiments.

I think it's the most laid-back essential mix I have ever heard and probably ever will.

Beautiful.

Genre: chillout, acousting, deep house

Holy Other - Sunshrine Mix

If you're familiar with Holy Other's music you'll fall in love this mix instantly, if you're not, you're about to experience one of a kind music journey.

There used t be a thing called witch house, Holy Other was one of the brightest stars, nevermind what happened with it, Holy Other is still reating incredible sounds. It's really hard to put a genre on his music and I guess witch house must be the closest to truth.

Genre: beats: shoegazie, witch house

Solitude - Ambient Dubstep Vol. 12

Tom Bond aka Solitude strikes with 12th episode of his hugely popular Ambient Dubstep Series and is sounding better than ever. Everyone who heard at least one mix of the series knows they stand on a really high level but with the newest episode Mr Bond proves what may appear as a ceiling for some is only a floor for him.

Containing tunes from names like Sorrow, Lex, Delete or stunning Stumbleine is, if you ask me, the best and the most chilling in the series. There is no point writing about the mix's technicalities, enough said is Solitude's mixes are always flawless and his material selection keeps me surprised and amazed with each individual mix.

Genre: ambient dubstep, chillstep

Snobo - A Failure of Trust in the April Sun

Kinda unusual post for me, since I have never blogged about mixes other than my own, but this one, made by my good friend Snobo really caught my ear and heart. It's a great journey through deep broken beats with a lot of real instruments which is really important for me and really makes me wanna listen to such things. Listen to the mix and read below Snobo's personal comment about the origins of it and material included.
